In September of 2011 I met Dominic Russo for the first time. It was at that meeting, God showed me that I really could make a difference in the lives of hurting girls and women who have been bought and sold as sex-slaves. God used this spirit-led visionary to awaken in me something I had been stuffing. I had learned of “human trafficking,” the gentler term that refers to young girls being sold like a commodity for the profit and perverse pleasure of others, but had convinced myself I couldn’t do anything. At that meeting Dominic shared with me his desire to provide a safe place for these young victims – a place where they can begin to heal. The only thing standing between these girls’ safety and another night of turtler and captivity was money. At that moment, I knew I could do something; my life has been forever changed.
God was moving in the hearts of several other women at the same time. In His ever-perfect timing, He brought us together to launch what has been not only an exciting journey, but the start of a movement to bring healing and hope to women and children in need, while also awakening women to their heart’s passion, and their ability to be the change they want to see. We call this movement, Women World Changers.
Together, we have been blessed to be a part of many life-changing projects, which include: funding several orphanages, helping open human trafficking safe homes in Colorado, USA and (Do you have a state?), Mexico, raising funds to launch a radio program that educates listeners about human trafficking, raised $20,000 for Christians Actively Demolishing Exploitation “CADE”, a ministry that is on the ground of the Southern California, battling human trafficking and educating the community. We’ve raised funds for young cancer patients needing specialized treatments and have fully funded new cabins for Leadership retreats through JH Israel. The list is long, but it is only the beginning. As we grown so does our impact. Now is the time to get involved. We are excited to welcome new members and grow together as we reach out to a hurting world.
I thank God for the opportunity he has given us all to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
